About GLRC
The Great Lakes Resilience Collective was inspired by community leaders and organizers who believed in the power of people coming together. We are rooted in the idea that strong communities grow through connection, shared responsibility, and showing up for one another.
We exist to create mutual aid and skill-building opportunities that help neighbors support neighbors. Through gatherings, shared learning, and hands-on collaboration, we focus on building practical skills, meaningful relationships, and a sense of belonging within our community.
The Collective prepares its members to support themselves and those around them by encouraging cooperation, trust, and active participation. Everyone has something to offer, and we believe resilience is built when people feel empowered, supported, and connected.
At our core, the Great Lakes Resilience Collective is about people working together toward common goals, strengthening community ties, caring for one another, and creating positive impact through shared effort.

The GLRC Common Fund
The Common Fund is the shared backbone of our collective.
It exists to meet essential needs across our community, including food access, basic supplies, emergency assistance, and short-term support for individuals and families facing hardship. This fund is used flexibly, allowing us to respond quickly to real situations—whether that means groceries, tents and survival supplies, help with utilities or bills, transportation, or direct aid coordinated through trusted local partners and volunteers.
The Common Fund supports unhoused neighbors, members experiencing food insecurity, and community members navigating temporary financial strain. Every contribution strengthens a collective safety net that prioritizes dignity, transparency, and mutual support. Donations are non-refundable, up to 10% of all donations may be held for operational use by GLRC to ensure proper function of our collective. For questions, please email helpglrc@gmail.com.
